AirPoint Remote ("AirPoint," "we," "our," or "us") provides a mobile app (Android/iOS) and a desktop companion app (Windows/Mac) that let you control your computer's mouse, presentation slides, and a virtual laser pointer from your phone. This policy explains what information the apps handle and how.
AirPoint does not require registration, an email address, or a name to function. Pairing between your phone and desktop uses a randomly generated 6-digit code and, after that, a session token — neither is linked to your identity, and both are stored only on your own devices.
| Data | Purpose | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Local network address (e.g. device IP) and pairing code/session token | Establish a direct connection between your phone and your computer | Stays on your phone and your computer. Not sent to us. |
| Camera (QR scan only) | Read the pairing QR code shown by the desktop app | Processed on your phone only. We do not record, store, or upload photos or video. |
| Motion sensors (gyroscope / accelerometer) | Aim the virtual laser pointer when Gyro mode is enabled | Used on-device to compute aim; control packets go to your desktop over LAN (or optional relay). Not stored by us. |
| Trackpad gestures, slide-navigation commands, keystrokes sent via the Keys tab, and laser-pointer movement | Deliver real-time remote-control functionality | Sent directly from your phone to your desktop app over your local Wi-Fi (or, if you enable it, through the optional relay server described below). Not logged or stored by us. |
| Basic app diagnostics (crash logs, general device type/OS version) | Fix bugs and improve stability | May be processed by standard crash-reporting tooling. Not linked to your pairing activity or identity. |
| Advertising identifiers | Serve ads to free-tier users on app open | Processed by Google AdMob (see below). Not shared with us in identifiable form. |
| Purchase receipt (for "Remove ads forever") | Verify and restore your ad-free purchase | Handled by Google Play Billing / Apple App Store. We do not receive your payment details. |
AirPoint works over your local Wi-Fi by default. If you turn on the optional relay feature ("Works from anywhere" / internet relay) to control your computer from a different network, your control commands are routed through a relay server — either one you deploy yourself or one you choose to connect to — instead of traveling directly between your devices. We recommend using an encrypted (WSS/TLS) relay URL. If you self-host the relay server, its data handling is under your control; if you use a relay we operate, commands are relayed in real time and are not stored or logged after delivery.
The free version of AirPoint displays a short ad when you open the app. Ads never appear while you are actively using the Trackpad, Slides, or Laser features. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect an advertising identifier and general device information to select and measure ads, subject to Google's privacy policy. You can remove ads at any time with a one-time in-app purchase.
Pairing codes expire after 10 minutes and can be used once. Session tokens remain on your devices until you unpair, reinstall, or clear app data. We do not retain a copy of your control activity on any server we operate.
AirPoint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below and we will address it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
